Garage sale find: a $10 air fryer that beat my $150 one

Stopped by a yard sale in Akron last Saturday, mostly for the old shop tools, and saw this beat-up air fryer for ten bucks. The lady said it barely worked, but I grabbed it anyway for the spare apartment. Cleaned the basket with vinegar and ran it empty for 5 minutes, and the thing cooked frozen fries way crispier than my fancy model. The timer dial is sticky and it's loud as heck, but honestly the food comes out better. Has anyone else found a random cheap unit that outperforms their main one?
