Am I the only one who still hand-packs wheel bearings instead of using a grease packer?

I did it by hand with a palm full of Aeroshell 33 for 12 years before a young guy on my crew at the Kendall shop showed me his $30 Lisle packer saves him 20 minutes per wheel, but I swear I can feel a bad bearing with my fingers that his tool never catches, so which one is actually right?
