TIL my old torque wrench was lying to me for months
Used to just trust my old Craftsman clicker until I borrowed a Snap-on digital from a buddy in Phoenix. Ran a calibration check on a 250 in-lb fastener and it clicked at 285, that's a huge miss. Switched to the digital for the last 6 weeks and my lug torque has been spot on every time. Anyone else ever find their old tools are way off, or was I just unlucky with that one?
Just a heads up, click type wrenches usually need to be stored at their lowest setting when you're not using them. Leaving them cranked up throws off the spring over time. If that's what happened, the Craftsman might not have been lying, just abused a little.
