Unpopular opinion: I chose the beat up 1978 Cessna over the shiny one and my wallet is thanking me
Pulled the rocker covers on both engines before I decided. The 78 had 4,100 hours on the airframe but the compressions were all in the 70s and the logbooks were clean. The newer one had a fresh coat of paint hiding some 8130 tags I could not trace back past 2019. Went with the old girl. Nine months in and she has not left me stranded once. Anyone else pick the ugly duckling over the pretty one and regret it, or am I just lucky this time?
