Hot take: a cheap 12 dollar dummy bell stopped 3 break in tries at my shop in Dayton
I put up a fake alarm box I grabbed at a flea market in Dayton last year just for looks, and it turns out the thing actually makes people think twice. My neighbor runs a pawn shop two doors down and he asked why I never get hit, so I checked my camera and saw 3 guys walk up, look at the box, and turn around. Cop buddy of mine said real stats back this up, something like most crooks skip a place if they see any alarm gear at all. Has anyone else leaned on decoy gear like this, or is it too risky if a real pro ever figures it out?
