Vent: I spent 2 years boosting posts with hashtags thinking that was how you go viral
Back in 2021 I ran a small page about old cars and I would slap 30 hashtags on every post, certain that was the trick to getting picked up, and I did this for about 2 years straight without questioning it. Then in October a post with zero hashtags blew up to 40k views overnight while my tagged posts sat at 200, so I dug into my own analytics and saw the real driver was the first 30 minutes of comments and shares, not the tags at all. How did you figure out what actually pushes a post, was it a moment like that or did someone just tell you?
