Watched my niece's video go from 12 views to 400k in 3 days, so I asked her what she did
My niece posted a 9 second clip of her cat knocking a cup off a table on a Tuesday, and by Friday it had 400,000 views. I asked her what happened and she said "I just used the sound everyone's using right now and posted it at 7pm." That was it. No hashtag plan, no posting schedule, just one trending audio and a cat being a cat. I've been trying to figure out if the sound really did the pushing or if the cat was always going to pop off anyway. It bugs me that a 14 year old cracked it by accident while people write whole guides about this stuff. Has anyone actually tested the same clip with and without a trending sound to see how much it matters?

Tbh I tested this on my own cat videos last month. Posted the same 8 second clip of my cat doing that dumb sideways walk twice, once with a trending sound and once with just the original audio. The one with the sound hit 22k and the plain one stalled at like 300 views. Same video, same day, same account. The sound did almost all of the work, it's kind of sad honestly.
