Got told my anime recs were "basic as hell" and it made me rethink how I watch stuff
So my buddy Jake, who has seen probably 400+ shows, flat out told me last month that my top 10 list was just whatever was popular on streaming. He said "you're not watching anime, you're watching what the algorithm feeds you." That stung but he wasn't wrong, so I spent the last 6 weeks going through stuff from before 2010 that nobody talks about anymore. Ended up finding shows like Kaiba and Kemonozume that I never would've clicked on otherwise. Now I'm wondering how many other people here got called out like this and what they started watching after.
