Serious question, tankless water heater or just get a bigger tank?
When our old 50 gallon tank started leaking in the garage last month, I got two quotes in Decatur. One plumber pushed a tankless unit at $4,800 installed, the other said just swap in a new 50 gallon tank for $1,300. I went with the tank and honestly the hot water recovery has been fine, even with two kids fighting over the bathrooms every morning. But now I keep second guessing myself every time I see one of those "endless hot water" ads. Did anybody here make the tankless jump and was it worth the extra money?
