Tried a DA with 80 grit vs chemical stripper on a '69 Chevelle hood, no contest
I picked up a '69 Chevelle hood last month that had 4 layers of old paint and some bondo hiding in the corners. I started with chemical stripper on half of it and it was a gooey mess that took 3 hours and still left primer behind, so I switched to my DA with 80 grit and had the other half bare in 40 minutes. Is there any reason to keep stripper around for panels like this, or am I just wasting my time and money?
