A tire shop guy in Reno told me to run my truck tires at 45 psi, and the wear pattern says he was onto something
Last spring I stopped at a shop off Virginia Street in Reno for a patch, and the old guy there told me to quit running the door sticker pressure on my half ton when I'm loaded. He said bump the rears to 45 and watch the tread. I ran them at 38 for three seasons before that and the outer edges always chewed down first. Now I've got 22,000 miles on this set with the wear bars still a good ways off, and they look even across the face. Anyone else been told to ignore the door jam number, or is this guy just lucky with my truck?
