Hot take: my brake pedal went from mushy to rock hard after I bled the lines with a $6 bottle of DOT 3
Last week I noticed the pedal on my 2012 Silverado was sinking about an inch before it grabbed, so I figured air got in the lines. I grabbed a $6 bottle of DOT 3 at the parts store on Main and did a full bleed in my driveway in about 40 minutes. The pedal is night and day different now, it grabs right at the top and the truck stops way straighter. Did I just get lucky with old fluid, or should I still be looking at the master cylinder?
