Unpopular opinion: I stopped chasing the cheapest auto transport quote after one very bad Tuesday
I used to be the guy who got 8 quotes for every car I shipped and always picked the lowest number. Back in March I booked a $575 run from Dallas to Kansas City because it beat the next cheapest by $90. The carrier never showed, then stopped answering, then told me my car was "on the next truck" for six days straight. I called the broker and the guy said the load had never been assigned to anyone. I ended up paying $740 to a different company on a Thursday and the car arrived in 2 days with zero drama. Now I look at how long a company has been answering their own phone, not just the price tag. Has anyone else had a cheap quote blow up on them like that?
