I thought the route map app was garbage until it saved me on the Pemigewasset loop
Two summers back I hiked the Pemi loop in the Whites with nothing but a paper map and a compass, and I laughed at my buddy for paying $30 for some subscription app that showed trails on your phone. Then a storm rolled in near Bondcliff in October and the trail signs were gone, and his downloaded map with the red line kept us from wandering off course for 3 miles. How many of you actually trust a phone app over paper when the fog drops on you?
