Warning: People keep skipping the permit check for the Enchantments in Washington...
I watched three separate groups get turned around at the Snow Lakes trailhead last September because they didn't have a core zone permit. They all said they 'figured it would be fine on a weekday.' The ranger told me they have to do this almost daily during peak season. It matters because it wrecks your trip and adds to trail congestion. Anyone have a good backup plan for when you don't win the lottery?
