Warning: my pond liner failed at the fold after only 2 years
I put in a 10x12 EPDM liner in my backyard in Columbus, Ohio back in March of 2023. Last week I noticed the water level dropping about an inch a day, which I blamed on the heat. Found the leak where I had folded the liner over a sharp rock edge near the skimmer, even though I thought I padded it with old carpet. The fold had creased and split, plain and simple. I patched it with a new piece of liner and some glue, but I'm already planning to redo that whole section with a rubber underlayment and no sharp bends. Has anyone else had a liner fail at a fold, and did you fix it in place or just replace the whole thing?
