My grandpa kept his mower gas in the same 5 gallon can for 30 years and never had a problem
He showed me his shed in Lincoln back in 2003 and the whole thing was just that one can, a funnel, and a shelf of coffee tins full of screws sorted by size, and now I've got 9 plastic bins and a label maker and I can find a bolt slower than he could, so is there anybody out there who still runs a system that simple or did we all just buy more containers to solve a problem we made up?
My buddy Dave in Fremont used one Folgers can for every nail, screw, and washer on his whole property, no labels, and he could reach in and grab exactly what he needed. Once you start sorting stuff into bins, you just spend your time sorting instead of fixing the gate.
