Appreciation post: the $3 garage sale calculator that actually got me through my econ final
I used to think fancy graphing calculators were a scam after my $120 one died during a stats quiz at Kent State back in 2019, so I switched to a $3 beat up TI from a driveway sale in Akron and never looked back. What changed my mind was watching my roommate punch a whole regression into his $140 model while mine only did basic stuff, and honestly seeing him use the table function to catch a sign error saved his grade that Thursday. Now I keep both in my bag and just accept that the cheap one is for quick checks and the fancy one earns its keep on exam day. Did anyone else have a beater calculator that outlasted the expensive one?
