I finally tracked my grocery bill for 30 days and the math said I was losing $47 a month on one dumb habit
I always figured buying coffee out was my big money leak, so I cut that first and saved about $22 a month. Then I actually added up my receipts from the whole month of March here in Boise and found I was tossing $47 worth of food that went bad in the fridge. The culprit was buying big packs of chicken and spinach every Sunday when I only cook for myself. I switched to smaller packs twice a week and my grocery total dropped from $310 to $240. Has anyone else done the receipt math and found the real leak was somewhere totally different than they guessed?
