Wrote off that 90s sitcom about a talking dog for 20 years, then a rainy Tuesday in Toledo changed my mind
I always figured a show with a talking dog was a lazy laugh track machine, but I caught two episodes back to back last week while waiting out a storm and the joke writing is actually sharp. The dog gets one line per scene and it lands every time, mostly because the writers don't let him talk too much. Did any other show from that era pull off a gimmick like that without wearing it out by season 2?
