Had a guy named Ray in my chair on Tuesday, been coming to me at the shop on 5th for about 3 years now, and he asked why I always start at his cowlick before I touch the sides. I gave him some half answer about muscle memory but it made me actually think about my order of operations all week. Turns out I've been starting every cut the same way since I was an apprentice and never questioned it once. Any of you ever have a client ask something so simple it makes you rethink your whole routine?
