Hit 100 spoke tension readings on one wheel yesterday

I was truing up a customer's old touring wheel and kept chasing the same wobble. Counted 100 tension checks with my Park Tool gauge before I finally got it perfect. Has anyone else spent way too long on a single wheel like that?

Was it a rim that had been bent for a while or did the customer bring it in already pretty straight? Sometimes those old touring rims can get a permanent set if they sat loaded for years, making the final few adjustments feel like you're fighting the metal itself.

Man, you hit the nail on the head. I've had a few old touring wheels where the rim just refused to cooperate because it had taken that set from years of heavy loads.
