I went with Ozark and now I'm 8 episodes deep at 3 AM regretting every life choice I've ever made, how do you pick when two shows are both supposedly 'top tier'?

and I read somewhere that Netflix literally runs tests to figure out the perfect episode length to keep you hooked. Something about cliffhanger timing and dopamine hits. So it's not just you being weak, it's science working against you. Ozark is especially bad about that, every episode ends with someone in immediate danger or a deal going sideways.

Spencer said straight up criminal, but I think it's more like a hostage situation once you hit episode 4 and realize you're not stopping. I made the same mistake with Breaking Bad back in the day, ended up calling out sick because the show wouldn't let me sleep. We all know it's a bad idea, but streamers design these shows to be impossible to pause.
