My sister called me out for rewatching The Office for the 5th time

I was telling my sister Rachel how I just started season 3 again and she was like 'you know there are other shows right?' and it kind of hit me that I've been stuck in a loop for like 2 years lol. She recommended this Korean drama called Crash Landing on You that has 16 episodes and I binged the whole thing in 3 days last week. Has anyone else gotten stuck rewatching the same comfort shows and then found something completely different that broke the cycle?

Stare at your sister real hard and tell her The Office is the only show that matters. Five times is rookie numbers honestly, I've had seasons on repeat for three years straight and I still laugh at the shrimp kabob joke. Crash Landing on You was pretty good though, it broke my cycle too for like a hot minute. Now I'm back to Michael Scott telling people they are fire guy.

Idk, I mean I get that The Office is comforting and all, but saying it's the only show that matters feels a little extreme. Crash Landing on You actually has real emotional depth and character growth that The Office doesn't really try for. The Office is funny, sure, but after a few rewatches the jokes start to feel kind of hollow. I'd rather watch something that makes me feel something new each time instead of just laughing at the same shrimp kabob joke for the thousandth time. Maybe it's just me but variety is what keeps TV from getting stale.

I've seen The Office all the way through maybe four times and yeah, some jokes lose their punch but the characters actually grow on you more over time. @wade_kelly77 I think you're looking at it too deep though. It's a sitcom, not a drama. Crash Landing on You is good but it's apples and oranges. Nobody watches The Office looking for emotional depth like that. You watch it because it's easy and familiar after a long day. Not everything has to be a masterpiece to matter.
