The library in Omaha had a shelf of beat up board games and it got more play than the new ones
Went to the main branch in Omaha last Saturday and saw a whole shelf of donated games with taped boxes and missing pieces, and a group of 6 kids were running a full game of Ticket to Ride on a copy held together with duct tape. Meanwhile the shrink wrapped party games on the next shelf just sat there. So my question is, does a game being worn and handled actually make people want to play it more, or was that just a lucky afternoon?
