Just realized I was wrong about rounding spines on case bindings
After fighting a warped cover on a 300 page rebind in my Denver shop for 3 weeks, I finally tried rounding the spine first like a guy at the supply counter kept telling me, and it sat flat on the first try, so what else am I doing the hard way?
My first rebind was a 200 page novel and I spent a solid week clamping and re-clamping the cover because the boards kept curling up on me. I had no clue what I was doing, just brute forcing it like an idiot. The guy who sold me the boards told me twice to round the spine before casing in, and I nodded along like yeah sure buddy, then went home and did it my way anyway. Three separates tries and one very warped cover later, turns out he was right the whole time. I felt real smart about that one.
