Pressing boards warp if you store them wrong, found out the hard way

I kept my pressing boards leaning against the wall in my basement for like 3 years. Last month I pulled one out for a project and noticed it had a slight curve to it, ruined a whole batch of book cloth because the edges got creased weird. Turns out they need to lay flat or hang vertical with support, not lean. Has anyone else messed up their equipment just from bad storage?
