I finally figured out why my monstera kept drooping

Had this big monstera by the window for over a year, and it never stood up straight. Leaves were always floppy no matter how much I watered or fertilized. Turns out the pot was way too big, so the soil stayed wet too long and the roots never firmed up. I downpotted it to something smaller about 3 months ago and now the leaves finally stand upright. Anyone else had a plant do better in a smaller pot?

The smaller pot thing fixed my pothos too, once roots feel snug they perk right up.

You said "once roots feel snug they perk right up" and that's the whole secret nobody tells you. I killed three different plants before I figured out they like being cramped like sardines in a can. My peace lily was practically waving a white flag until I stuffed it into a pot barely bigger than a coffee mug. Now it's thriving like it's trying to prove a point about small living spaces. It's almost like plants are secretly tiny hoarders who think roots need to touch every wall. Who knew the key to happy greenery was basically making them claustrophobic?

Yeah @samrodriguez my friend had the same thing with her snake plant. She thought more room would help it grow but the leaves just got floppy and pale until she put it in a tiny terracotta pot and it finally perked up.
