My mail carrier called my pothos 'fake' and it made me rethink my whole plant shelf
My mail carrier, Dana, stopped at my porch last Tuesday to hand me a box and pointed at my pothos. She said, 'That one's fake, right? The leaves are too shiny.' I laughed it off, but then I walked inside and stared at that plant for ten minutes, and she was kind of right. I'd been wiping the leaves with coconut oil every two weeks since March because some video told me it makes them glossy, and I never once asked if that was actually good for the plant. Turns out it clogs the little pores, and my poor pothos has just been sitting there suffocating for five months while I thought I was helping. Has anyone else done the oily leaf thing and did your plant bounce back after you stopped?
