Nursery guy in Boise told me native plants aren't always better, I'm still processing it
Had a long chat with the owner of a small native plant nursery off Fairview Ave last Friday. He said most native species struggle in urban soil because it's compacted and full of construction debris, so some non-natives actually do better for pollinators here. I've been pushing natives for years, but he had 15 years of soil tests to back it up. Has anyone else heard this argument from a grower you respect?

Fifteen years of soil tests, that guy must be fun at garden parties.
