My habit tracker fell apart after 3 weeks and here's what fixed it

I was at my kitchen table in Portland when I realized my habit tracker had 14 blank squares in a row. I had set up this gorgeous spread with color coded columns and everything, but the problem was I kept forgetting to fill it in at night. So I moved the tracker to the first page of my weekly spread, right next to my schedule, and taped a pen to the edge of that page using a binder clip. Now I fill it in every morning with coffee before I even open my laptop. Has anyone else had to physically relocate a spread to make it stick, or did you just drop the habit entirely?

lol "14 blank squares in a row" sounds like you just stopped caring for two weeks, not a design problem. Taping a pen to the page feels like you're punishing yourself for forgetting something that's supposed to be easy. I mean, if the habit itself was worth tracking, you'd probably remember to do it without needing a binder clip as a life raft. Dropping the habit entirely is way more honest than forcing a system to work with extra steps. But hey, if coloring in boxes with your coffee makes you happy, more power to you.
