Why does nobody talk about the client contract clause that almost cost me $2,400
I was going over a contract I signed back in March with a new client in Columbus and noticed my payment terms said net 60, not net 30 like I assumed. What tipped me off was a late invoice chat where they said "oh yeah, we pay on the 60-day cycle per our standard terms" and I had no leg to stand on. I dug back through the paperwork and sure enough it was buried on page 3, so I ate the wait on $2,400 for two extra months. Now I read every page out loud before signing, sounds dumb but it works for me. Has anyone dealt with a client hiding payment terms like this, and did you get them to change it after the fact?
