The 24-pack of AAA batteries had a use-by date, checked it today
Picked up a bulk pack at a hardware store in Phoenix for $18, thought it was a steal. Got home, saw the stamp on the back: expires in 9 months. Who knew batteries had an expiration date that short? I store tools in a hot garage, so they're probably toast by next summer. Should I just burn through them in remote controls and flashlights now, or is there a trick to keeping them fresh? Has anyone else wasted money on these bulk deals?
Totally been there, I grabbed a huge pack of D batteries on sale and they had a date like 6 months out. I keep a thermometer in my garage and that heat is brutal on them, so I know your pain. Honestly, just start swapping them into everything now, and keep the extras in a cooler spot indoors if you can.
