Can we talk about all these guys skipping the drawer lock joint?
Tbh, I keep seeing cabinets come out of other shops where the drawer boxes are just butt joints and staples. I been at this in Louisville for 22 years, and my old mentor woulda thrown a chisel at someone for that. A dovetail or even a solid lock joint takes maybe 15 extra minutes per drawer but saves you from a call back in 2 years when the front pulls loose. I know production speed matters, but I just fixed a set from a builder who swore staples were fine, and all 8 drawers sagged within 18 months. Has anyone else noticed this becoming the norm with the younger guys, or am I just yelling at clouds?
