Found out my table saw blade was spinning 200 RPM slower than the manual claimed, that explains a lot
I got a cheap laser tach off Amazon for $22 and checked my 10 inch contractor saw in the shop last Tuesday. The manual says 4,800 RPM no load but mine was reading around 4,600, and after some digging I found a thread on a woodworking forum from 2019 saying factory specs are often measured before belts and pulleys settle in. That 200 RPM gap is the reason my rip cuts on 8/4 maple have been burning and why I was getting kickback on longer boards. Anyone else ever put a tach on their saw and find the numbers did not match the sticker?
