Pro tip: a tiny screw from a $2 reading glasses kit saved a Kodak Retina I was stuck on for 9 days
I had a Retina IIa on the bench where the film advance was slipping, and I tore the whole thing down 3 times looking for a bent pawl. Turned out the tiny spring for the advance lever had lost its tension, and nothing in my parts box was close enough to work. After 9 days of staring at it, I grabbed a $2 screw kit for reading glasses at the pharmacy, and one of those little springs was almost an exact match, just had to trim it a hair. It's been holding for 40 rolls now. Has anyone found a good source for small springs like this, or do you just harvest them from junk cameras?

Stop wasting nine days, those glasses springs are junk metal and will snap way before forty rolls.
