Shoutout to the tech who showed me the trick with the tiny spring in a Leica M3 viewfinder
I was in a tiny back room in Austin, about to give up on a jammed frame counter, when he calmly used a piece of fishing line to guide the spring back into its channel without taking the whole top plate off.

Fishing line, on a Leica?

That kind of quiet, clever fix is the best. It's a lost art, solving problems with patience and a simple tool instead of brute force.

Remember when people would fix a wobbly table with a folded napkin? Now they just buy a whole new one. My grandpa could tune a radio just by the sound, no apps needed. That kind of quiet skill feels like it's fading away, and it's a real shame.
