The repair guy at the camera show in Columbus had a table full of parts and no prices
Stopped by the camera show at the fairgrounds in Columbus a couple Saturdays back and most tables were full of clean bodies with tags on them. One older guy near the back had nothing but bins of parts, lens rings, shutter blades, spring sets, and not a single price written anywhere. I asked about a focus ring for a 50mm and he said to make him an offer based on what the part was worth to me. We went back and forth and I walked out with a bag of odd springs and a whole shutter assembly for $25. It got me thinking about how the parts side of this trade is mostly folks trading from memory instead of set prices. Any of you buy from tables like that, or do you stick to sellers with real price lists?
