TIL my $200 tent stakes were the problem, not the tent
For 2 years I pounded those big box store stakes with a rock and cussed my tent every time a gust hit at Lake Texoma. A guy camped next to me handed me his titanium hook stakes, and I figured he was just showing off his fancy gear. Swapped mine out on the next trip, same tent, 30 mph gusts all night, zero flopping. Anyone else waste real money upgrading the wrong piece of gear first?
