Shoutout to my mentor in Columbus who bet me $500 I couldn't land a job without a degree, 6 months later I collect
Two years back I was stuck at $16/hr doing warehouse work, and she swore the degree was the only way in. I went the cert route instead, 3 AWS certs in 6 months, and landed a $68k cloud support gig in Columbus. So which is it, is the degree really the gatekeeper or just the safe bet?

the degree was the only way in" is what my buddy heard too, right before he got his forklift cert and doubled his pay in a year. Turns out the gate was never locked, people just kept telling him it was.
