PSA: stretch a Berber in winter and watch it bite you in July
Installed a 60 oz wool Berber in a client's sunroom back in January, power stretched it tight and it looked perfect leaving the driveway. Went back to that same house in Minneapolis last week and found three seam peels and a ripple along the east wall, because that room hits 95 degrees with the sun and the backing relaxed way more than I planned for. I'm done stretching cold weather jobs to the max, now I leave a little give and let the heat do the work. Anybody got a rule of thumb for how much slack to leave on wool in a room that bakes like that?
Man, that east wall bit makes sense, the sun just keeps cooking that one side all day. Maybe figure out the worst wall first and leave your slack mostly there instead of spreading it even.
