Seam placement disaster in a sunroom, my own fault

Tbh, I tried to squeeze a seam under a floor-to-ceiling window in a sunroom last Tuesday and the light hit it so bad you could see every single row. The homeowner walked in and just said "uh, is that supposed to look like that?" I ended up pulling the whole section and redoing it with a single piece that I'd measured wrong the first time. Cost me an extra 4 hours and about 60 bucks in material, but the second pass looked clean. Any of you guys got a rule of thumb for when to just say no to a seam placement?

Honestly, seams under windows are the worst call anyway. You gotta learn to love the shadow lines cause that's the only way you're ever gonna get out of there under budget. Four extra hours sounds like a learning win to me.
