The day a cat tried to help me seam a roll in a Boise basement

I was halfway through a tricky seam on this huge roll of plush, kneeling in a basement in Boise. The homeowner's giant orange cat, out of nowhere, decided the fresh seam tape was the perfect place to take a nap. I mean full belly flop, right on the sticky line. I had to gently lift a very confused, slightly sticky 15 pound cat off the tape without ruining the adhesive or getting clawed. We had to re-tape the whole 8 foot section. Anyone else have a pet completely derail a job?

My buddy was painting trim in Portland and their client's corgi ate an entire tube of caulk. They found the empty tube under the sofa and had to rush the dog to the emergency vet. The whole job was shut down for half a day.

My cousin's parrot once stole a box of drywall screws.

Used to think keeping pets out was just about hair and mess. That Boise cat story is a whole other level. Had a job where a terrier kept stealing my chalk line snaps, thought it was a game. Ended up having to lock all my string in the truck. Animals don't just make a mess, they turn your tools into toys and your work into their playground.
