The warranty rep casually mentioned carpet has a lifespan, and I've been lying to customers for years
Honestly I was on the phone with a manufacturer rep about a stain claim on a Berber in Spokane and she goes, offhand, that they rate most residential carpet at 10 to 15 years, period, no matter how good you clean it. I've been telling folks their carpet will outlive their mortgage for a decade. Ngl it stung a little, because now I keep noticing it, like a plush I pulled in a rental that was only 8 years old and already matted flat under the couch. She said traffic lanes in front of a couch get about 80% of the wear, which honestly matches what my knees feel like after a full day on the knee kicker. So now I'm wondering if I should be saying that out loud on bids or just let people find out the way I did. Any of you bring up lifespan on a quote, or do you keep it to yourself?
