I finally dropped $85 on a rotary broom instead of hand scrubbing soot, and I'm never going back
Last Tuesday I was staring at a 40 foot run of black creosote in a colonial over in Hartford, and I had to pick between the wire brush I've used since I started or a rotary broom that a guy at the supply house swore by. I went with the rotary and knocked out the whole flue in about 25 minutes, which normally eats up an hour and a half of my day. Any of you still hand scrubbing every job, or am I the last guy to figure this out?
The "last guy to figure this out" part hits home because I spent three years telling myself the wire brush built character. Turns out it just built hand cramps and a bad attitude. Good on you for making the switch before your wrists filed a complaint.
