Swore off ladders in the rain after slipping on a wet rung in Portland, then a 60 year old sweep changed my mind
I was up on a steep pitch roof in Portland last month when my foot slid off a wet rung, and I barely caught myself on the gutter, so I told my crew no more roof work when it rains. Then a 60 year old sweep named Dale showed me his simple trick of wrapping the rungs with old inner tube strips and said "grip beats fear every time." Now I keep a box of inner tubes in the truck and haven't had a slip since, so does anyone else wrap their rungs or use a different grip fix?
