The 'You Won't Believe This' thumbnail rule that actually works 9 times out of 10
Been tracking the top 50 tech YouTubers for 2 months and the pattern is clear, if the face in the thumbnail shows shock but the video is just a spec sheet rundown, it's still more truthful than the ones with fake arrows pointing at nothing. Why do creators keep adding those pointless red circles when the real lie is the title promising a 'secret' that's literally in the first 10 seconds of the video? Anybody else notice the click rate stays the same either way?
My buddy runs a small tech channel and spent a week obsessing over thumbnails, changing arrows and colors every day. Views never moved an inch, but the one video he forgot to fix the thumbnail on, the one with his normal surprised face, got the most clicks all month.
