Can we talk about how one comment on my block's recycling bin post made me change how I do everything?
I posted a photo of my overflowing recycling bin in the Riverdale Facebook group asking why pickup keeps getting skipped and a neighbor replied that I was contaminating the whole load with greasy pizza boxes. I looked it up and she was right, one dirty box can send an entire truck of cardboard to the landfill. That was 4 months ago and now I rinse every jar and tear the greasy flaps off boxes before they go in. I also started keeping a small bin next to the big one for stuff I'm not sure about. What rules do you all follow when you're not sure if something is actually recyclable?
