Got kicked out of a town hall in Reno for saying we should fix the grid before buying more solar
I went to a climate action meeting in Reno last week and stood up to say we should focus on updating the power lines first because our grid loses a ton of energy just moving it around. The room turned on me fast and a guy near the front told me I was shilling for the utility companies. But I work on these lines and I see how much we waste every day. Why do we keep pushing rooftop panels when the wires can't even handle what we already have?

Reno's grid is old but losing power on lines is like 5% at most.
