I finally stopped flushing my toilet every time and my water bill dropped $40 in 2 months
I started following the "if it's yellow let it mellow" rule in June after reading that toilets use 1.6 gallons per flush, and my July bill went from $118 to $79. My wife hated it for the first week but stopped complaining once she saw the number. Has anyone else tried cutting water use at home this way, or is there a better first step I'm missing?
